Kim Kye-Hyun
Abstract
The domestic medical industry is under dualised medical system and continued problems of the business scope among medical service providers are occurring. The court judges that it is possible to distinguish medicine from oriental medicine, since there are differences in principles and medical examination methods. It also insists medical practice, which is not qualified and authenticated by the country, must be restricted, even though diseases could be cured, or it was useful in preventing a risk for health hygiene.
The court considers that it is important to comprehend the theoretical basis for medical procedures using medical devices, rather than the use of medical devices.
Therefore, there is a need to review on the danger of using medical devices and whether medical devices are helpful in making a proper diagnosis and curing diseases by analyzing results from medical devices and information from medical examination comprehensively.
With regard to the use of modern medical devices among oriental medicine doctors, some say it must be allowed, since the possibility of harming due to the use of medical devices in health hygiene is low. Given that medical practice is premised upon treatment, there is a danger in health hygiene and it must be strictly analyzed, though the possibility is low in the diagnostic process due to safety of some medical devices.
